Budget Process
Every fiscal year (12-month cycle from July 1st to June 30th), the City of Enterprise begins developing an operating and capital budget. The budget is a financial plan for the new year. The budget document is a legal document that establishes the authorization to receive and expend money. The City of Enterprise is required to follow the State of Oregon’s Local Budget Law, Oregon Revised Statute (ORS), Chapter 294. The Mayor and City Council, together with Department Managers, set annual goals that help to develop the budget’s funding priorities. Department Managers help to identify operational and maintenance needs and the necessary steps to meet the goals and objectives set.
Upon the Budget Committees approval of the proposed budget, the process continues to the City Council for an adopted budget, a completion requirement prior to June 30th.
